Imagine watching a picture rise from a white pool to emerge as subtle tones and then – wow – a fully realized photo! In the case of one family, Uncle George – an avid photographer – brought these images to life time and time again. Crisp and magical, the family was smitten. Oh, the family? Mine!
I didn’t rediscover Polaroids for myself until many years later when I found a resource and camera where they converted and modernized a camera to polaroid film. I was hooked. I began to take it to weddings and special gatherings, providing unique images for couples and charming little art works for guests – a much more modern (yet retro) twist on the popular photo booth idea. (Like old relics, it’s no longer being made.) Having this image on my own wall reminds me of the excitement of finding my voice through photography. It has been a long and storied journey.
